“In life, it’s not where you go, it’s who you travel with”

HOLY MACKERAL what a day we had!! Emma Clarke founder of Beautiful Bright Smile is part of our HOOKED Travel Community! She was scheduled to be part of our Canmore, Alberta trip that was to take place February 25th but due to unforeseen circumstances that particular trip had to be rescheduled till 2023. Emma and I were both stoked to Snowshoe and Dogsled in Canmore. SO… we decided to take a mini HOOKED adventure to Manning Park, BC and Snowshoe there! All great! Two gals snowshoeing for approx 3 hours… the weather was great, our thighs were burning, fresh air in abundance, pictures taken, laughs galore we had a successful event! AND THEN….

With the cold air Emma’s electric car battery completely died on us. I mean completely… HOWEVER it died the moment we safely arrived at SUNSHINE VALLEY an all year round campground with cell reception, wifi and the most glorious helpful people. SO SO GRATEFUL, the powers that be were absolutely looking out for us. We met Jeff our tow truck driver from Mario’s towing, Ryan the Curator at Sunshine Valley Tashme Museum (who just happened to know me from grade 8) and Joanne who was running the front desk with hot coffee.

We defiantly experienced moments of frustration. All of a sudden our perfect day was not so perfect. After some trials and numerous phone calls we got loaded onto the tow truck and headed to the nearest charging station. All was well… we had the heat going and tunes playing headed to pick up my car, only to find it sitting all alone in a closed gated parking lot with no way out. It was the second time in the day where we looked at each other in amazement with the words “are you kidding me!” on our brains! We frantically pounded on the doors of the building attached to the parking lot. Thankfully a smiling sweet gentlemen answered the door and was able to assist us. SO…. the moral of the story? Travel is not always rainbows and unicorns and the perfect storybook experience. But travel good, or bad creates memories and brings people together. Emma and I will remain forever friends and we will never ever forget the car battery dying on the highway. Truth be told, we might actually forget the snowshoeing! We ideally wanted Canmore Alberta on a dogsledding and snowshoeing action packed 4 day adventure and we ended up in a tow truck! It’s really not about where you go, it’s who you travel with! Our HOOKED TRAVEL COMMUNITY is full of like minded, clean living, healthy habit, motivated people who want to be the best version of themselves! The acronym for HOOKED-ON-TRAVEL is HOT….lol.
